DAY 1: Arrival in Baghdad.
Transfer to hotel and check-in. Rest.
Lunch and half-day City Tour with Martyr's Monument and the Iraqi museum.
DAY 2: Second Tour in Baghdad
Taq Kasra, Dur-Kurigalzu, Kadhimiya Old City, Sahet Al Tahreer.
DAY 3: Baghdad – Babylon – Karbala - Al-Ukhaidir Fortress – Karbala
DAY 4: Karbala – Najaf (Visit the Wadi al-Salam cemetery) – Nasiriya (Visit Uruk)
DAY 5: Nasriya (Visit Ur City) – The Mesopotamian Marshes - Return to Bagdad.
DAY 6: Baghdad - Samarra – Hatra – Mosul
DAY 7: Mosul City Tour (Nineveh), Etc.
DAY 8: Mosul -Dohuk
DAY 9: Drive to Lalish and Dohuk
Visit Gaugamela/Tel Gomel. Visit the Assyrian Monastery of St. Matthew and the ancient aqueduct of Jirwana. After lunch head to the Yezidi pilgrimage site of Lalish where we learn about the customs and rituals of these people, descendants of the Zoroastrians. End the day in Dohuk.
DAY 10: Drive to Amadiya and Rawanduz
After breakfast, we head to the ancient city of Amadiya where we explore its sights before traveling to Rawanduz. We travel through breathtaking scenery in the region of Barzan and continue through Soran passing by Shanidar Cave where some of the world’s first pre-historic remains were discovered, as well as making a brief stop at the Bekhal Waterfalls.
Travel past the renowned Hamilton Road – one of the greatest engineering feats of the last century – before reaching Rawanduz and our hotel for the night.
DAY11: Rawanduz
Spend the day exploring the region around Rawanduz, one of Kurdistan’s most beautiful areas with dramatic gorges, imposing mountains, and traditional villages. We head to Bestoon Cave, a fascinating cavern that stretches 500 meters underground and is adorned with numerous stalactites and stalagmites.
DAY 12: Drive to Erbil
City Tour with Citadel etc.
DAY 13: Departure
